Mixed Media
The projects here were created from two different artist residencies. The first four artworks are costume renderings, a theatre design technique that allows costumers to communicate ideas to a play's director before making cutting and sewing. Third grade students in the CARE program worked with La Jolla Playhouse to understand the role of the costume designer, then worked on their own costume designs based on a children's play they saw.
The next images are photo collages created by fourth grade students working with the Museum of Photographic Arts. The collages projects are based on an the book The Best Part of Me by Wendy Ewald.
