Painting
These self-portraits in acrylic by fifth grade students were painted over a period of six weeks. The students first studied portraits from the collection of the Timken Museum of Art before they began working on their own. The work you see here a combination discipline-based art skills and personal embellishments. During the process the students learned how to mix acrylics, select appropriate brush sizes, and complete a photo transfer process on canvas.
